Beginning this round, Hazel is teaching Derek his skills. Today is his birthday. He will be aging up from a toddler to a school-aged boy.
Beginning this round, Hazel is teaching Derek his skills. Today is his birthday. He will be aging up from a toddler to a school-aged boy.
Beginning this chapter there is a big storm going on in the Phipps family neighborhood. Be careful of that lightening Lillie!
We begin this chapter with the Holloway family. Hazel is busy doing what she loves to do.... taking care of her family. She is teaching toddler Derek how to potty.
As we begin round 2 in the Dooley family, Yvonne is paying her bills online. Money isn't as tight as it once was now that she is getting her social security payment of $219. That is making a lot of difference.
Lillie Phipps grew up as an only child to a single mother. Her parents never married, and her father was more absent from her life than he was a part of it. Her mother more than made up for this. Lillie was always close to her mom. They spent much time together and she had a very happy childhood.
Lillie spent many happy hours with her mom. She has fond memories of spending time in a warm kitchen filled with the smell of fresh bread baking in the oven, fresh cookies, warm pies. Her mother was not only good at baking, but she was also a good cook. Lillie watched and learned from her mom.
Maybe it was because she never really had a close relationship with her father, but Lillie has always found it difficult to have a close, intimate relationship with any of the guys she has dated. When things got too close, she would inevitably find an excuse to break things off. She thought she wanted to have a husband and children of her own, but never seemed to find the person she wished to settle down with to make that happen.
Lillie is a happy person. She is happy with her life. She is happy with her job. She would rather work at a job she loved and make less money than to have a high-powered job that paid a lot and be miserable.
Now that she is past her young adult years, will Lillie continue to be happy with the path she has chosen? Will she one day look back on this decision with regret? Will it then be too late? Her biological clock may have ticked out.
Lillie Phipps is an adult female. She is romantic, a foodie and she is creative. She is a serial romantic.
The Gregory family was a typical middle-class family consisting of mom and dad, two children, and a dog. The father worked all week while mom was a stay-at-home mother who took care of the house and the children.
Annette and Sandy grew up being very close. They usually got along and did almost everything together. It was almost as if they were twins, though in appearance they couldn't look more different. Their mom was so obsessed with keeping the house immaculate that she often sent the two of them off to the park to play. She hated it when they made a mess in the house.
Being the oldest, Annette was always reminded to "take care of your sister" whenever they were out. Sandy never did a good job of listening to her older sister, however. As they grew older, it was more difficult for Annette to tell her sister what to do. While Annette was more serious about life, Sandy certainly was not
During their high school years Sandy was all about fun and partying while Annette concentrated on making good grades. She loved painting and wanted to be a famous painter one day. Sandy really had no plans from one day to the other except to have fun.
As a result, Sandy became pregnant with her son Joel. Her parents were very disappointed in their daughter and were more concerned about the scandal for the family than they were for their little grandson. They decided to provide Sandy with a home of her own for her and her child in another town, hoping all the gossip would just go away. Of course, Annette was required to live with Sandy in order to help out with little Joel. They also wanted Annette to keep an eye on Sandy.
Sandy and Annette, along with Sandy's son Joel have begun a new chapter of their lives living in their little house in Willow Creek.
Will Sandy ever grow up and become a responsible young adult and parent to her son Joel? Will Annette ever be able to establish her own life without having to take care of her younger sister?
Meet Annette Gregory. Slightly older sister to Sandy and Aunt to her nephew Joel. I say slightly as there is only about 15 months difference in their age.
Annette wants to be a friend to the world. She is neat, materialistic and a perfectionist. Both Annette and Sandy are a young adult.
Hazel met the father of her children when they were both at university. They were in several classes together and fell in love with each other over long nights of drinking coffee and cramming for exams. After graduating university, they were married.
Wanting to get their careers established, they both began working right away. Neither wanted to waste their degrees by not at least making an attempt to work in their chosen career. Both felt there would always be time for children and for expanding the family.
After a few years Hazel began to feel as if her fertility clock were ticking. She wanted to have children while they were still young enough to enjoy them and still had the energy to do things together as a family.
Even though they were both at a place in their lives where they wanted children, it just didn't happen. They tried for several years to conceive. They eventually went to a fertility clinic in order to determine if there was some sort of biological issue with the two of them conceiving a child together.
There wasn't. It was just fate that it hadn't happened for them yet. The experts told them to just relax and not try so hard and it would likely happen. After a few more years it finally did happen! Hazel became pregnant with Callen. They were both over the moon to hear that Hazel was finally pregnant.
Following Callen's birth, Hazel only worked part time. After a few years she became pregnant with their son Derek. Even though Hazel would have loved to have a little girl, they had decided years ago to only have two children. She was content with her two, healthy sons.
Just a few months following Derek's birth, their father was killed in an automobile accident. It was a horrible time for the entire family. Between the life insurance money and the money Hazel was making at her part time job, they have been able to make a go of things financially. They are not rich by any means but they have all they need.
Will Hazel find love in her future or will her unflirty, hotheaded ways push people away? Will Callen learn to just be a little boy and not take on so much responsibility at such a young age?
Hazel Holloway is hotheaded, neat and unflirty. She is also a serial romantic (Yes, she's an unflirty serial romantic. Some roll huh?) She is an adult.
I want to add a little story about each family.
Yvonne's life has been somewhat tragic. Her parents were young, unmarried and addicted to drugs. The doctors said her mental condition (erratic) was caused because her mother was using drugs throughout her pregnancy with Yvonne. She spent much of her childhood in and out of the foster care system.
When she was 16, Yvonne's parents both died of an overdose. Rather than go back into foster care, Yvonne chose to run away and try to make it on her own. She looked a few years older than her birth age and was able to get a job at a restaurant. She bussed tables, washed dishes, refilled coffee cups and water glasses. She was mainly kept in the back, however, away from the customers.
Yvonne lived in a room above the restaurant for years. The owners of the restaurant were always very kind to her. Though she never made a lot of money, she was able to save any extra over the years. Her goal was to have her own home and her own family.
Unfortunately for Yvonne her dream of owning her own home took many, many years to come to fruition. She worked throughout her young adult and adult years, saving every penny she didn't need to survive. As she reached her elder years, Yvonne realized she had finally saved enough to make her dream come true.
She purchased a small home in Willow Creek. A one bedroom, one bath little house in a quiet neighborhood. Though happy to own her own home, she grieved the fact that she was unable to have children of her own. She never gave up on her dream of having a family.
Yvonne adopted a little girl, Ella. She had a lot of love to give. She had a home to offer. It wasn't fancy but it was a home she knew she would have been happy to live in growing up.
This family is struggling financially but seem to be making a go of it. Can they continue to grow closer as a family? Will Yvonne live long enough to see Ella graduate? Is Yvonne emotionally able to have a close relationship with someone else without turning them away?
We shall see.
Meet Yvonne Dooley. She is an elder who has the big happy family aspiration. She is erratic, a maker, and non-committal. (Yes, she is an elder woman with the big happy family aspiration.)
Here are the basic rules of this Sims 4 challenge:
Roll for how many families you will start with (I rolled 4.) Has to be more than 1 for this roll.
Roll for how many people/ age/ gender will be in each family.
I rolled: 4
Family #1 - Rolled one female elder
Family #2 - Rolled 3. One female adult, one male child, one male infant.
Family #3- Rolled 3. Two female adults, one male infant.
Family #4 - Rolled 1 One adult female.
You also roll for the aspiration for adult sims and children. For toddlers/infants I just randomize in game.
You play each family, beginning with first rolled, for the same amount of time. The rules recommend from 3 to 7 days each family. I will begin playing at 3 days per family so I can set all the families up in a home. The game generates starting funds depending on how large the family is.
The goal is to play each family rotationally so they age up equally and to see how prosperous each family can become. They can marry for money. It's fine!
So that's the basics of how this challenge is played. Hope I was not confusing. You can also read the rules HERE.
All aspirations and traits must be randomized. You must say yes to any popup choices.
The challenge ends When either a 5th Gen sim dies of old age or the last descendants of the original sims dies, CAS sims are 1st gen no matter their age. Sims must be born in game to be 2nd Gen.
Rolling to determine age and gender:
Age:
1 = Toddler
2 = Child
3 = Teen
4 = Adult
5 = Elder
6 = Infant
If a family would start with only elders or only children/toddlers you can re-roll or use a placeholder and kill them off. No adult is needed if you roll a teen.
Gender:
Even number = Female
Odd number = Male
This is from the old Sims 2 challenge. You can find it HERE
I bulldozed all the lots in Willow Creek except the 4 houses the original founders are moving in to. I deleted all townies except the 3 vampires and Father Winter. Of course the game regenerates more townies.
Beginning this round, Hazel is teaching Derek his skills. Today is his birthday. He will be aging up from a toddler to a school-aged boy.
