We begin this chapter with the Holloway family. Hazel is busy doing what she loves to do.... taking care of her family. She is teaching toddler Derek how to potty.
Hazel met a man that she seems to really get along with. His name is Jacques Villareal.
As they were talking, Hazel told Jacques that she occasionally sells her paintings and asked if he would like to see one of them. He said yes so here they are inside her home.
Although he didn't purchase it, Jacques was very encouraging and complimentary of Hazel's painting. He stayed around to talk for a bit.

I'm not sure but I do wonder whether Caleb has a thing for Hazel?
He visits occasionally. On this visit he was watching the cooking channel and deeply concentrating on the program. It would almost be worth it to cure him of his vampirism just so he could enjoy the taste of food once again. Not that I want to try.
One of Callen's friends decided to make a mess outside the house.
Callen, being the adult-ish child that he is, let her know he didn't appreciate her doing that on his sidewalk. He said it in a nice way of course.
He then jumped up to say hi to another one of his friends. I wonder if he sees himself as a bit of a ladies man?
Callen is an "A" student and has never caused his mother any problems. Sometimes she worries if she expects too much of him.
Callen likes to do his homework on his little brother's bed while Derek naps. I guess he got woke up this time.
He probably just wanted some attention from Hazel.
Derek will have his birthday soon. He's doing really well with his skills and gets plenty of attention from his mom.
Hazel also makes sure she has time to spend with her older son Callen. She likes to talk with him about how school is going, and he tells her about all his friends.
Callen and Derek are close. Callen is really good with his little brother Derek.
Hazel is an acquaintance of Jacob Denny. He stopped by one evening to look at one of her paintings as he has purchased one or two from her in the past. They are pretty good friends. When Hazel asked Jacob if he was single, he said, "I'm seeing someone." I guess we all know what that is!
Hazel is keeping very busy these days. Her priority is her two boys, Callen and Derek. She is working hard to provide a loving home for them. Between selling her paintings, she is also always on the lookout for expanding her garden for the profit it gives her. It also provides fresh fruits and vegetables for her family.
She is all about providing for her family.
At night, after the kids are safe and asleep, Hazel slides between the covers of her double bed. She is still sleeping alone. She would like to find a person and fall in love again. The loss of her boy's dad was very hard on her and on everyone.
For now she is happy knowing she is giving everything she has to making sure Callen and Derek are happy and provided for. There will be time to think about other things in the future...Lord willing.
